Find your exact age in years, months, days, hours — and more fun facts!
An age calculator computes the precise age of a person or the duration between two dates. Unlike a simple subtraction of years, a proper age calculation accounts for months and days — because a person born on December 31, 1990 is not yet "35" on December 30, 2025.
Age is calculated using the difference between the date of birth and the reference date (today, or a custom date). The calculation accounts for leap years, months with different numbers of days, and whether the current year's birthday has passed yet.
For example: If you were born on March 15, 1990, and today is February 10, 2025, your age is 34 years, 10 months, and 26 days — not 35 yet, because your birthday in March 2025 has not come yet.
The formula considers three components: years = difference in years (adjusted for whether the birthday has passed), months = remaining months, days = remaining days after accounting for years and months.
Total days = the absolute difference between two dates measured in calendar days, which our tool then converts to hours (× 24) and minutes (× 1440).
